Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee - Call for Nominations

Posted On Thursday September 24, 2020

We are currently accepting nominations for Parent Representatives and Community Representatives to the Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee. Please view the information below regarding nominations.

Parent Representative positions (Volunteer position)

The Durham Catholic District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee (DCPIC) is currently seeking applications to fill six (6) Parent Representative positions, beginning in October 2020 and ending September 2022 (two-year term).

The DCPIC is a parent-led advisory committee working within the Durham Catholic District School Board. The main purpose of DCPIC is to encourage, support and enhance meaningful parent involvement to improve student academic achievement and well-being.  By providing a direct link between parents, Catholic School Councils, the Director of Education and the Board of Trustees, the DCPIC is committed to working in partnership with all stakeholders to promote Catholic education, faith formation and student success.  Whereas local Catholic School Councils focus on parent involvement at individual schools, the DCPIC focuses on and provides advice at the regional level.

Members of the DCPIC are required to make a commitment to attending monthly meetings, which are held at the Catholic Education Centre in the Boardroom located at 650 Rossland Road West, Oshawa.

Parent Members are mandatory voting members and must be the Catholic parent of a pupil enrolled in a school of the Board. Employees of the Board may serve as Parent Members and must inform the committee of their employment at the first committee meeting they attend.

If you are a strong supporter of Catholic Education, complete a volunteer parent representative nomination form by Monday, October 5, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
